This is a large and cheerful site split by the beach road. There are 150 flat pitches for touring units which are set apart from the 120 permanent units across the road. The touring pitches have 6A electricity and enjoy shade from mature trees. Owned by the Forti family since 1969, the site has undergone a transformation over the last few years and has much to offer families for an enjoyable stay. Facilities here include a restaurant with terraces, a secluded swimming pool and a comprehensive entertainment programme. An elevated terrace above the play area also provides a good view of the pools and water features.

Free buses will take you to the beach 1 km. away. A lake is just 450 m. and is a pleasant walk. There are 62 bungalows to rent.

One older style but very clean unisex toilet block is on the touring side supplemented by toilets in the new amenity block. WCs are British, showers are pushbutton (50c token). Accessible facilities. Baby bath. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services (charged for 1 night stays). Well stocked supermarket. Bar, restaurant with varied menu and pizzeria/takeaway. Swimming pool and paddling pool (1/6-31/8; charged). Play area. Mini club, TV in bar. Entertainment programme. Bicycle hire. Bungalows to rent. Free site minibus to beach. Dogs are not accepted in high season. Torches useful. WiFi on part of site (charged).

Directions to Italia Family Camping Village Viareggio

Torre del Lago is on the west coast 15 km. north of Pisa. From A8 northbound leave at Viareggio exit, when heading south use Pisa North exit. Then take the S1 heading for Pisa. Continue towards the village of Torre del Lago where site is well signed.
