Alan Rogers Review of Hobro Camping Gattenborg
Hobro Camping Gattenborg is located in Hobro, Denmark, in a natural setting with views over Vesterfjord and Mariagerfjord. This neat and well-tended municipal site is imaginatively landscaped and has around 140 pitches on terraces arranged around a bowl-shaped central activity area. Most pitches (100 for touring units) have electricity (10A) and many trees and shrubs. Footpaths connect the various terraces and activity areas.
There are 30 seasonal units and ten cabins. The reception building, with a small shop and tourist information, has a covered picnic terrace behind it and houses a large TV lounge. The small, heated outdoor swimming pool with a small water slide, sauna and jacuzzi is free to campers and open in high season, weather permitting. Extra facilities include two children's playgrounds with swings, slides, a bouncy cushion, a climbing wall and a sandpit. There are also billiards, giant chess and an unusual woodland moon-buggy (go-kart) track.
The campsite is located just a 10-minute walk from Hobro's charming city centre. Here, visitors can experience the city's many shops, restaurants, and cultural offerings. It is also close to the Viking Castle of Fyrkat and the lovely old town of Mariager. The site is open all year, though reception hours may be limited in the low season and registration during this period must be made in advance.

The main heated sanitary building includes washbasins in cubicles and hot showers (on payment). Two family bathrooms. Accessible sanitary facilities. Baby room. Kitchen with hobs, sinks and free herbs. Washing machine and dryer. The tiny unit in the centre of the site has two unisex WCs and washbasins (cold water only) and a small kitchen. Motorhome services. Shop (order bread before 9pm). Swimming pool (high season). Play areas. TV lounge with board games and library. Bicycle hire. Limited WiFi available.
