Alan Rogers Review
This mature, well maintained site is set in 40 acres of beautiful countryside on the Dorset and Hampshire border. There are 95 touring pitches, 32 on hardstandings with 10/16A electricity hook-ups, water taps and drainage. They are screened by hedges and arranged around a circular gravel roadway. The remaining numbered pitches are on grass in a level, open area with some new planting. There is also a rally field, space for ball games and a small playground. There are three small lakes for coarse fishing, and many woodland walks in the area.
Having achieved a Silver David Bellamy award, the site has now been awarded Gold. This is an excellent park for dog owners and for those who want to go to a pub via a woodland walk. It is more suitable for adults and young children rather than active teenagers.
A large modern barn-style building provides excellent heated facilities. Laundry room. Facilities for disabled visitors and babies. Motorhome services. Facilities for tent pitches. First floor games room with full size snooker table, two pool tables and dart board, plus a separate function room. Shop. Playground. Free WiFi. Shepherd’s hut for hire. Rallies welcome.
LocationFrom Fordingbridge take B3078 westwards for 2 miles to Alderholt. On entering the village, at left hand bend, turn right towards Sandleheath (site signed) and site entrance is 300 yds. on the left. Link to campsite location map on google
