Hertugbyens Camping is a simple but quiet site in South Jutland on Augustenborg fjord, about 10 km from Sønderborg.  Bordering the  Augustenborg Fjord, this simple yet charming campground is an ideal destination for those seeking peace, quiet, and a connection with the outdoors and nature. To maintain this tranquil atmosphere, the campsite doesn't offer luxury amenities or on-site activities. For dining or shopping, you'll need to venture outside of the campsite. Since the campsite Borders the Augustenborg Fjord is prone to being rather windy. Situated near the Augustenborg Castle Park, the campsite occupies the grounds of an old farm once connected to the castle. On site, there are 70 touring pitches, of which have 16-Amp electric hook-up points available.  The terrain is slightly hilly and features pitches with and without shade. They are situated on well-maintained grass. Hedges separate the pitches, giving privacy while staying here. There are also a number of Trekkers huts available to hire. 

On-site facilities include a children's play area with a bounce pad and swings. The site owner runs a fish shop where you can get delicious fish for your dinner if you don't want to venture into one of the nearby towns. The lane of Castle Augustenborg will lead you to the nearby fjord. For those looking for an active holiday, the fjord offers various swimming, fishing, boating and other water sports opportunities.

Directions to Hertugbyens Camping

From Germany on the E45 continue to the junction. Continue to the bridge at Sønderborg. Continue on Route 8 and take the Augustenborg exit on the right. In Augustenborg turn left at a crossroad onto Storegade. Follow site signs. Turn first right onto Palaevej before the hospital, then left and follow Ny Stavensbøl towards the beach. The site is on the left off this road
