Farm Lator is a small, privately run site with 25 pitches on the edge of the Bükk National Park, near the Bükk mountains, more or less in the middle of nowhere! This keeps the site really quiet and the surroundings are very suitable for many different types of bird and butterfly that you won’t find anywhere else in Europe. The Dutch/Hungarian owners of Farm Lator, Rob de Jong and Barbara Borostyankoi, try to keep the site and its surroundings as natural as possible. This means the site has few amenities, other than a clean and well kept sanitary block, and electricity (16A) is only provided for three pitches. Truly a site for nature lovers.

The charm of this site is the peace and quiet of the natural environment that one enjoys here, but they also organise excursions. You can visit the charcoal-burners who show you how to burn chalk and charcoal the old fashioned way – something else that would be hard to find anywhere else in Europe.

Facilities at Farm Lator

One small unisex sanitary block provides two toilets, two washbasins and three controllable showers, all very clean and well maintained. Sinks under cover. Three pitches with 16A electricity. Sitting room with library. Weekly meal. No shop but bread to order. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Riding. Torches useful.

Directions to Farm Lator

From Budapest take M3 to Miskolc. Take exit for Mezkerestes and follow road through Mezkerestes and Meznyárad, then turn right on no. 3 road towards Miskolc. In Bükkabrany, at petrol station, turn left to Sály and follow road (10 km) to site (just after small graveyard).
