El Bahira is a popular site in quite a remote area overlooking the Gulf of Makari toward Monte Cofano. The views are outstanding and the location is good as it is near the sea, nature reserves and ancient cities such as Segtesta and Selinunte with their awe inspiring antiquities. Partners Maurizio, Maceri, Sugameli and Michele, who speak good English, have chosen this area to develop a campsite of a high standard. The 200 fairly small pitches are on sloping gravel (chocks required), most are shady and all have electricity. There are also numerous statics which unfortunately rather spoil the look of the site. There is a separate area for tents.

The excellent restaurant, pizzeria and the pool all have views of the sea and there are very good entertainment and sporting facilities. Sanitary facilities with the exception of the showers are very good. The unisex showers are by timed token (outside the cabin) and the cubicles are tiny. Book ahead for this site in July and August as sites this good are few and far between in Sicily. Mothia with its prehistoric caves with early signs of man is also nearby, as is the enchanting Erice where time appears to have stood still and you can meander the ancient streets and enjoy the Norman castle and wonderful Duomo.

Three well placed sanitary blocks, showers are by token (€ 4 for 8 showers), these are unisex, in tiny cabins. Accessible facilities, Motorhome services. Supermarket. Restaurant and pizzeria. Swimming pool, children’s pool and beach bar. Two entertainment areas. Tennis. Football/volleyball pitch. Sub-aqua facilities. Boat launching at rocky beach on site. Free WiFi on part of site.

Directions to El Bahira Camping Village

From the east follow the A19 motorway and take Castellammare del Golfo exit then follow the S187 towards Trapani. After 16 km. turn right and follow signs to San Vito Lo Capo and site is well signed off the road approaching the town.
