Dovecot Caravan Park is a highly rated, family-run site located at Northwaterbridge near Laurencekirk (AB30 1QL). Developed in 1989 as part of a farm diversification project, this third-generation family site spans six acres and is known for its peaceful, manicured, and welcoming atmosphere.  Dovecot is well-structured and landscaped, making it a perfect base for families, couples, and tourists exploring Aberdeenshire, Angus, and the surrounding coastline. The campsite is nestled in a sheltered, level hollow surrounded on three sides by grassy embankments, small trees, shrubs, and the River North Esk. These unique surroundings create a warm, calm micro-environment that shields campers from the elements. On site, there are 25 touring pitches, 6 of which are hardstanding, and there is a small tent area.

For a relatively small site, Dovecot provides modern, top-tier amenities that are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The reception area doubles as a recreational hub, offering a pool table, table tennis, and plenty of local tourist information leaflets. The site also features two safe, open-air children’s play areas, giving kids plenty of space to run around within sight of the pitches.

The site has some fantastic walks nearby, including The Blue Door Walk to the Rocks of Solitude on the River North Esk, approx. 5 miles from the site. You can enjoy coastal walks and picnics along St Cyrus Nature Reserve, Montrose beach & Lunan Bay, only a short drive away. Montrose Basin visitor centre, home to over 50,000 migratory birds, offers a great day out for all the family.

Brechin Castle Centre offers lots of activities for children. There are 4 Golf Courses within a 15-minute drive. And don`t forget to visit Edzell Castle & the legend of the White Lady. For a different kind of spirit, Fettercairn Distillery and its gift shop are only 4 miles away, open May-September. Heading to Stonehaven, we have Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven Tolbooth Museum and Stonehaven`s Open Air Swimming Pool.

Travelling South on A90 from Aberdeen the site 4.5 miles past Laurencekirk, turn right at the junction clearly sign posted for Dovecot, follow road and turn left into the site. Travelling North on A90 from Dundee the site is 2 miles past Stracathro Services, turn left clearly sign posted for Dovecot, follow road and turn left into the site.
