Alan Rogers Review of Domaine le Jantou
Le Jantou has been expanded over the years from an 18th-century farm and farmhouse to a large holiday village. It is bordered by a small river good for trout fishing. The 218 level, small to medium sized, fairly stony pitches (rock pegs advised), 35 for touring, are in two different areas and are separated by low hedges but few have any shade. All have 3/6/10A electricity. There is a large outdoor pool with toboggan, children’s pool and paddling pool and, in a separate area, a good covered pool, both surrounded by paved and grass sunbathing areas.
The reception is housed in the original old building close to the two swimming pool areas and an excellent children’s play area. In July and August a full programme of activities for children is arranged, and once a week there is evening entertainment for the family. Close by is the beautiful region of northern Provence with its ancient villages and old market towns. Ile-sur-la Sourgue with its renowned antiques market is only 5 km. and Avignon with its famous part-finished bridge is only 15 km. Follow the wine routes and visit the many well known wine cellars.
Facilities at Domaine le Jantou
Main toilet block is some distance from pitches. A new smaller block has 4 en-suite accessible units, but access has a step. Washing machine/dryer. Motorhome services. Small bar/restaurant (July/Aug), takeaway (July/Sept). Basic shop. Swimming pools (all season). Large play and sports area. Large sports area. Fishing. Small games room. TV. Communal barbecue area (no barbecues on pitches). Barrier key € 15 deposit. One dog per pitch. WiFi.
Directions to Domaine le Jantou
Leave A7 autoroute at Avignon north (exit 23), take D942 signed Carpentras. Shortly turn south on D6 and in 8 km. turn east on N100, signed Le Thor.
