This very spacious and cleverly terraced rural site lies in pleasant countryside hidden from the roads by its own wood, to the east of the Rhône valley. The very large pitches appear to form natural clearings under pine trees, creating a pleasant feeling of seclusion. A grassy lower area is more open and young trees give little shade. Although the pitches have electricity (6A) some long leads may be necessary. Fifty of the 112 pitches are for touring; all are level and grassy and many have their own water. The lower level pitches are easily accessed, while those on the upper levels have stunning views. The pool complex has an upper level solarium for serious sunbathing with a pleasant shaded area below. Good English is spoken by the friendly owners.

Facilities at Domaine la Garenne

Five small, but adequate sanitary blocks are arranged across the site. They have washbasins in cabins and some accessible facilities (but steep paths and terracing make only the lower levels accessible). Washing machine. Motorhome services. Baker calls July/Aug. Small bar plus takeaway (July/Aug). Swimming pool, shallow pool and fun pool (heated June/Sept). Large sports area. Play area. Communal barbecue (not allowed on the pitches). Some family activities (July/Aug). WiFi by reception and bar (free). Torches and rock pegs are advisable.

Directions to Domaine la Garenne

Leave the N7 16 km. north of Tournon. Turn east on D51, signed Châteauneuf. After 15 km. at Mureils, turn right on D363, signed St Avit. After 2 km. turn left on D53 (site signed) and site entrance is shortly on the right.
