On the edge of an attractive Bastide (a medieval fortified town) in the heart of the Dordogne, the Domaine de la Colombière is a holiday park offering bungalows and mobile homes in a shady setting, and consists of beautifully wooded terraces overlooking a small valley. There are no touring pitches. Access to accommodation is along steep footpaths, as all vehicles are left at the entrance to the site. A small heated swimming pool with a sun terrace is open from mid May. The village is just a short walk from the site and along its quaint streets are a variety of shops, bars and restaurants.

As well as traditional markets, Beaumont-du-Périgord is famous for its Truffle Market and in the summer there are atmospheric night-time markets. For a wider choice of shops and restaurants, Bergerac is an easy drive away and the historic town of Sarlat-le-Canéda is well worth a visit. Walkers and cyclists – and indeed horse riders – have a wide choice of way-marked routes, and the varied landscapes of Périgord Noir and Périgord Pourpre await motorists. This is a quiet site and a good base for exploring the area.

Directions to Domaine de la Colombière

Beaumont-du-Périgord is 65 km. due south of Périgueux. From A89 motorway at exit 15 take N21 south towards Bergerac. In 13 km. turn southeast on D43 (Vergt) then D8 to Lalinde. Follow Bergerac then Cahors to continue south on D660 to Beaumont. Site is on southern edge of village on D676 towards Villeréal.
