This is a perfect region for a hospitable stay in a wooded and hilly environment, still dominated by peace and quiet, space and style. Originally part of a great estate, Allurepark Laag Kanje has been developed into a top quality campsite over the last 40 years with the unusual, but attractive feature that cars can not be parked on the camping pitch (but there are parking spaces near to the pitches.) This is a spacious site with a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. There are 800 pitches in total, mainly for privately owned mobile homes, 150 are available for touring with 5A electricity. The park is located at the heart of the forest, so sandy beaches may be the last thing you would expect here. However, there is a fine sandy beach 100 m. from the site, which surrounds a beautiful swimming lake (for which there is a fee.)

In high season, there is an imaginative entertainment and activity programme, including many activities for children, such as a Chinese lantern parade, puppet shows and forest hunts. Amersfoort, to the north, is a delightful city, with a network of canals and narrow streets.

Facilities at De Utrechtse Heuvelrug

Modern toilet blocks with special facilities for children and accessible facilities. Four blocks are heated in the low season. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Small restaurant and snack bar. There is a small shop with basic necessities including fresh bread daily. Entertainment and activity programme for adults and children. Bicycle hire. WiFi throughout (charged). Dogs are not accepted. A pass is required to access the underground waste facilities (deposit of 20€ required.)

Heading south from Amersfoort on the N227 towards Doorn, site is well signed shortly before arrival at the village of Maarn.
