Alan Rogers Review of Cranfield Caravan Park
On the shores of Carlingford Lough, with direct access to a Blue Flag beach, this friendly, family run park immediately impresses with its well cared for flower beds, neat hedging, cordyline palms and the elegant building which incorporates the family home and reception. Despite the many privately owned caravan holiday homes on site, 40 touring pitches are kept separate and are situated towards the park entrance. Most pitches have a sea view, hardstanding and all have tower units providing 10A electricity hook-ups, water, waste water point and TV outlet. Tents are not accepted.
Situated at Northern Ireland’s most southerly point, the surrounding scenery of the Mourne Mountains, the Lough and distant vistas is stunning. A focal point is the Haulbowline lighthouse, off Cranfield Point, built in the 1800s.
Facilities at Cranfield Caravan Park
The modern, heated toilet block (entrance by key) is well maintained with tiled walls/floors, preset showers (token) and open style washbasins. Excellent accessible facilities doubles as a family room, also a night WC (by key). Well equipped laundry in a separate building. Play area (outside park). Sea fishing, boat launching and beach (with lifeguard). WiFi (charged).
