In a village location in the Tannheimer Tal, with panoramic mountain scenery, Comfort Camp Grän is a family run site with excellent heated sanitary facilities and a stylish, modern indoor pool complex. It makes a good base for exploring this border region of Austria and Germany. The site has 190 pitches of 80-100 sq.m. (160 for touring units), all with 16A electricity, water (only for summer use) and waste water on fairly level grass, over gravel terrain with some shallow terraces. Gas connections are available in winter. There are 14 private sanitary cabins to rent. The main services are grouped near the entrance. These include a hotel, restaurant, bar and a mini-market.

A bus service (wanderbus) to various locations and walking trails runs from the village from end of May until early October. There are also mountain biking, paragliding, ballooning and watersports opportunities in the area. The site is very popular in winter with cross-country and downhill skiers, and with skaters when the Haldensee is frozen over. It is busy in October and November, when reservation is advised.

Facilities

The main sanitary unit is impressive with superb facilities: controllable hot showers, washbasins in cubicles, a children’s section in the ladies’, a baby room and many family bathrooms to rent. The second smaller unit at one end of the site is equally good. Indoor pool complex (access with key card) with relaxation areas, sauna and steam room. Solarium. Shop. Restaurant and bar. Small playground plus an indoor playroom for under 12s. WiFi (charged). Teenagers’ room. Dogs are not accepted in high season, contact site first.

Location

Grän is close to the German border, southwest of Füssen. From Germany on autobahn A7, turn off at exit 137, and turn south on road 310 to Oberjoch, then take road 308 (road 199 in Austria) east to Grän. Turn north on L261 signed Pfronten, and site is 1.5 km. on left.
