Now part of the Ciela Village Group, Camping Terra Verdon has amiable, English-speaking owners and is a reasonably priced, less commercialised site situated in some of the most dramatic scenery in France. The 274 pitches, 122 good sized ones for touring, are clearly marked, separated by trees and small hedges, some are on a slight slope, and all have electricity and water. Access is suitable for larger units. The bar/restaurant overlooks the swimming pool with its sunbathing area set in a sunny location with fantastic views. In high season, English-speaking young people entertain children (3-8 years) and teenagers. There are guided walks into the surrounding hills in the nearby Gorges du Verdon – a very popular excursion, particularly in high season. The weather in the hills here is enjoyable without the excessive heat of the coast.
