Alan Rogers Review of Church Stile Farm Holiday Park
Church Stile Farm Holiday Park is a family-run destination located in the picturesque village of Nether Wasdale. Located within a traditional oak woodland, the site covers roughly 7 acres and offers dramatic views of the Screes mountain range. It is particularly popular with walkers and families looking to explore the "quieter" side of the Lake District, sitting just minutes away from Wastwater (England’s deepest lake) and the base of Scafell Pike. There are large level grass pitches for tents and hardstanding pitches for motorhomes/campervans. Electric hook-ups (16 amp) are available on select pitches.
The site is well-regarded for being spotless and modern, even in a rugged setting and offers the following: Separate ladies' and gents' blocks with free hot showers, hairdryers, and a dedicated make-up area for women. The Farm Shop & Café stocks local produce, camping essentials, and gifts. It also serves coffee, homemade cakes, and takeaway treats. For the kids, there is a playground with swings and climbing frames, plus a large separate grass field for football and ball games.
Within a five-minute walk, guests will find two country pubs. Wastwater, England's deepest lake, is just five minutes away and features scenic views and walking trails. Scafell Pike, 15 minutes away, offers a challenging hike as England's highest mountain. On sunny days, Seascale Beach (15 minutes away) is ideal for swimming or enjoying fish and chips.
