Dunaföldvár is a most attractive town of 10,000 people and you are in the heart of it in just two or three minutes on foot from this site, easily reached via the wide towpath on the west bank of the Danube. For a town site, Kék-Duna is remarkably peaceful. This is a pleasant small site on the banks of the Danube, fenced all round and locked at night, with flat concrete access roads to 50 pitches. All have electricity (16A), the first half being open, the remainder well shaded. Apart from the obvious attractions of the river, with a large island opposite and pleasant walks possible, the ancient town has a most interesting museum.

The ‘Burg’ has a genuine dungeon and cells, Roman relics and with a panoramic view of the town and river from its top floor. There are in fact too many places of interest within easy reach to list here. There are many walking and biking possibilities in the Kiskunság national park.

Older style, tiled and clean sanitary building with nicely decorated ladies’ section offers curtained showers with communal changing. Washing machine. Restaurant, Bar, Snack bar, Takeaway food, Outdoor and indoor swimming pool, Childrens play ground, Table tennis, Wifi. Pets allowed.

Directions to Campingplatz Blaue Donau

From the roundabout south of Dunaföldvár turn towards the town centre. At the traffic lights turn right and go down as far as the Danube then turn left, under the green bridge and follow the towpath 300 m. to the site.
