Camping Westhove is an ideal site for all ages and has some high quality play facilities for children. It is situated on the island Walcheren (the garden of Zeeland). There are 366 spacious pitches of which 275 are for touring with 6A electricity. The possibilities are endless – whether you wish to enjoy the beach, nature or the towns. There are marked tracks through the woods and dunes, and historical villages and towns with opportunities for cycling, walking and riding. The site’s sanitary facilities are of a high standard, and there is an excellent new wellness and fitness centre.
Even in wet weather there is plenty to do as the huge adventure play area is indoors and the swimming pool with separate children’s section is covered. There is a ball pool, a lookout tower, spooky house climbing frame and a toddler corner. The nearby town of Domburg is maybe best known for its artistic connections. Mondrian stayed there, following in the footsteps of Whistler. Domburg now offers a livelier selection of shops, bars, restaurants and a disco. Middelburg is the capital of the province of Zeeland and has an interesting history dating back to the 9th century. Although badly bombed, the city has been sensitively rebuilt and still boasts some fine 17th-century merchants’ houses.
