Alan Rogers Review of Camping Verneda
This family run campsite in the Valle d’Aran, surrounded by the High Pyrenees, has at its centre a small cascading waterfall fed by two others outside the site. The pitches are grass and are mainly level, and sit at either side of the single access road as you enter over a small, narrow bridge, with the smaller pitches next to the river. The site is next to the Rio Garona, which can be a bit noisy, but it is a truly spectacular site.
From Camping Verneda you can enjoy both summer and winter scenery and activities of which there are plenty. Amongst the summer activities is high mountain trekking, white-water rafting and fishing (in the Rio Garona). Winter time is the time for downhill skiing and snowboarding on the mountain pistes nearby (information in reception).
Facilities at Camping Verneda
One modern sanitary block with all facilities. Four chemical toilets in various locations around the site. Accessible facilities. Baby changing area (in both male and female toilets). Motorhome services. Shop (21/6-13/9). Bar/restaurant. Swimming pool (unsupervised) heated (open to public, 21/6-13/9). Play areas.
Directions to Camping Verneda
From A64 (France) exit 17 take A645, Montréjeau/Luchon/Saint Bertrand/ Valcabrère, (south to Pyrénées). Then join N125 until you reach Spain where it becomes N230. Follow N230 for about 16 km. to site (signed).
