In the popular Calafell area, this site is set back from the sea across a beach road. Popular with tourists for many years, the area has apartment buildings, bars and restaurants, and is popular with families. The 300 touring pitches (70-105 sq.m) are fairly close together, partially shaded by trees, and all have 6A electricity. Access to all the pitches is through one central, narrow avenue of palms which is busy with foot and vehicle traffic. The pleasant pool area with more tall palms and grassy areas, has very wide slides that delight children and adults alike. There is a railway line at the western end of the site.

At the pool, white umbrellas provide shade, loungers are provided and there is a smart bar/restaurant and large terrace. A large thatched area used in the evenings for entertainment, provides extra shade away from the pool. There are daily entertainment and activity programmes for adults and children in season. The restaurant serves some Spanish dishes and pizza, and there is a takeaway. The site is bustling with activity and is crowded during high season.

Directions to Camping Vendrell Platja

From A7 or A16 take exit 31 for El Vendrell. Then go east to Sant Salvador, and north on coast road towards Platja Calafell. Site is well signed on this road west of the town centre. Avoid using satellite navigation, which may take you through Calafell (caravans and motorhomes will not fit under low railway bridges).
