Alan Rogers Review of Camping Valtos
Valtos Camping lies two kilometres west of the picturesque village of Parga and just 60 m. from the beautiful sandy beach at Valtos. This is a small, friendly site with a shop, bar and restaurant. The 100 touring pitches here are of various sizes, all with electricity connections (16A). There is little grass but good shade is supplied by mulberry, lemon and olive trees.
Access to the site is quite narrow and owners of larger motorhomes will need to be careful. The 35-minute walk up over the castle hill and the steep descent through the narrow, shop-lined alleys of Parga yields magnificent views, especially from the castle walls.
Popular excursions from here include the islands of Antipaxos and Paxos with its blue caves, and Anthousa, a sleepy village high in the mountains. A water taxi service connects with Parga.
Facilities at Camping Valtos
Two toilet blocks, one modern and one refurbished. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Shop, bar, takeaway and restaurant (all May-Sept). Caravans for rent.
Directions to Camping Valtos
From Igoumenitsa head south towards Preveza (E55). Turn right to Parga, in Parga keep right and continue on the coastal road towards Anthousa. Watch out for Valtos sign to the left and descend to Valtos beach. At the end of the beach (Tango Club) turn right, site is 50 m.
