Alan Rogers Review of Camping Vall de Camprodon
This large holiday village is attractively situated in a wooded valley with cows grazing to one side, their pleasant bells often to be heard. A stream runs below the site, between it and the road.
There are 200 grass and gravel pitches, some with shade, others without. Some are occupied by seasonal caravans and private chalets interspersed with 170 for touring units, all with 4-10A electricity. There are 32 modern chalets for rent. Only 20 km. away is the mountain and ski resort of Vallter 2000 and to the southwest is the historic town of Ripoll.
Camprodon is a very pleasant old town with a magnificent ancient bridge at its centre.
To the north there is a spectacular rack and pinion railway which takes you to the tourist and religious mountain centre of Nuria. The family, who also own the nearby Els Roures site, took over this complex a few years ago and since then have done a splendid job turning it into a pleasant holiday destination. The amenities are of the highest standard and this year a modern coin-operated car/motorhome washing area has been installed. The owner keeps his own riding horses at the site and children may be able to help feed them.
