Camping Universal is owned by Christelle and Cedric Jamard who offer an enthusiastic welcome to their site and are keen to have more British visitors. Thoughtfully landscaped for shade and privacy in most areas, the 90 grass pitches are level and all have electrical connections (10A). There is easy access around the site but some of the outer pitches are accessed across grass, and drainage can be an issue during wet weather. The site has a large sports playing field and direct access to the Cèze river from which fishing and swimming can all be enjoyed.

A small on-site shop sells the basic essentials. Within the locality are the Gorges de l’Ardeche, Pont d’Arc and Barjac, a renaissance village worth exploring with an 18th century castle. During the high season, a wide programme of children’s entertainment is arranged, including treasure hunts, donkey rides and sports tournaments. A swipe card barrier controls access to the site.

Directions to Camping Universal

From Ales, take D904 north (St Ambroix), then take D51 (St Denis). Pass through St Denis and turn east on D187 in 4 km. Turn left in 200 m at campsite sign.
