Alan Rogers Review of Camping Trelde Næs

Trelde Næs is a busy and lively site next to a beach accessed via 70 steep, wooden steps. It is one of Denmark’s larger sites with over 500 level and numbered pitches. The 375 touring pitches all have 10A electricity and there are 37 fully serviced pitches with electricity, water, drainage and Internet access. Seasonal units take up the remaining pitches. Pitches are mainly in rows off tarmac access roads on well kept, grassy fields with some shade from bushes at the rear.

At the front of the site is a heated, open-air, fun pool with a large slide, jacuzzi and play island (seasonal) The site is right next to the beach, but also close to the nature reserve of Trelde Næs which has been part of the Royal estates since the 14th century.

City and culture lovers are well off too, for the historic town of Fredericia is close. Here we suggest taking the tour of the Walls, built by King Christian IV, and visit Den Historiske Miniby, a miniature model park of Fredericia. A bus stops by the site entrance. The facilities here are all clean and well maintained. When we visited, there was a real buzz from families enjoying themselves.

Traditional toilet blocks have washbasins in cabins and controllable hot showers (card operated). Child size toilets and washbasins. Family shower room. Baby room. Laundry. Fun pool (seasonal) with island, large slide, Turkish bath, solarium and sauna. Well stocked shop. Takeaway. Several playgrounds. Minigolf. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Watersports. Full entertainment programme for children (high season). TV room. WiFi (charged). Cabins and rooms to rent.
