Tamaring is a small, tranquil site, ideal for those seeking a natural setting with plenty of space. It is located close to the natural parks of Beekvliet and Grote Veld amid the rural landscape of Achterhoek. There are 120 large grassy pitches (100-150 sq.m) on 3.5 acres spread over four fields. One field has pitches separated by hedges, creating a private atmosphere. A separate field caters for tents with a covered picnic area and children’s hide-out. All pitches have electricity connections (10A) and Europlugs.

Amenities include a fenced-off outdoor swimming pool, several playgrounds and organised treasure hunt cycle rides in the forest. Guided nature walks and rides are offered in high season, and the area is perfect for easy-going cycling. Nearby Ruurlo is an attractive village with some handy amenities and one of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands, which is well worth a visit (a popular spot for weddings!). Not far from Ruurlo is a huge maze which was completely restored in 1981 and is a popular excursion.

For children, there is a large sand pit and a well designed playground, plus and indoor play barn. Children’s bicycles and tractors are free to use.

Location

From Arnhem take A348 towards Zutphen, continue along the N348 and then the N314 to bypass Zutphen. At roundabout take N319 through Vorden until the N312 for Ruurlo. Site is 1.5 km. north of Ruurlo on N312 towards Lochem. Signed from Ruurlo.
