Camping ’t Hop, in addition to 60 seasonal pitches and 35 permanent pitches, provides 60 touring pitches (about 100 sq.m), all with 6A electricity and 32 fully serviced. There are a few hardstandings. The site is adjacent to the Menno van Coehoorn forest and only a few yards from Sloter lake with an open connection to it for boats. The site is divided into 11 areas, each with around ten pitches. The seasonal pitches are in a separate area. The focal point of the site is an adventure play area, together with the pride of the site, a café which offers a varied menu and is definitely recommended.

In this area you will also find the sanitary building and sporting facilities, including a covered swimming pool and paddling pool. Boats can be launched from the site onto the lake and canoes and bicycles may be hired. The characteristics of this part of Friesland - forests, grass, water and pastures - are emphasised in the little village of Wijckel. Many walking, cycling and canoe trips start from here. Ancient Friesian towns such as Sloten, Hindeloopen and Stavoren are all worth a visit.

Directions to Camping ’t Hop

On the A6 from Joure travelling south towards Almere, take exit 17 (Lemmer, Balk) and follow the N359 to Balk. Following site signs, turn right then left after 1 km.
