Alan Rogers Review of Camping Stanowitz
The town of Mariánské Lázne (Marienbad - 2.5km) is an old-style health resort in the heart of Western Bohemia, a region full of historical and natural beauty. The town became popular as a spa resort between 1870 and the 1920s, with around 100 mineral springs. However, this is not the only reason to stay at Camp Stanowitz.
This cosy, family-size campsite has only 30 pitches, all with 10A electricity, in a slightly sloping, unmarked apple and plum orchard (look out for falling fruit in the Autumn). Drainage is good. The owner makes a real effort to show off his beautiful country to interested visitors and probably has more brochures than the average tourist office. Attached to the site is a pension (bed and breakfast) and a small restaurant with a terrace, which offers a limited menu but receives positive reports from visitors.
Facilities at Camping Stanowitz
Modern, heated toilet block with free hot showers. Washing machine. Restaurant/bar. Riding. Internet. Free WiFi. BBQ's permitted. Max 2 Dogs allowed. No children's entertainment program.
