The town of Mariánské Lázne (Marienbad - 2.5km) is an old-style health resort in the heart of Western Bohemia, a region full of historical and natural beauty. The town became popular as a spa resort between 1870 and the 1920s, with around 100 mineral springs. However, this is not the only reason to stay at Camp Stanowitz.

This cosy, family-size campsite has only 30 pitches, all with 10A electricity, in a slightly sloping, unmarked apple and plum orchard (look out for falling fruit in the Autumn). Drainage is good. The owner makes a real effort to show off his beautiful country to interested visitors and probably has more brochures than the average tourist office. Attached to the site is a pension (bed and breakfast) and a small restaurant with a terrace, which offers a limited menu but receives positive reports from visitors.

Directions to Camping Stanowitz

Site is in the hills of Stanoviste village just to the southeast of Mariánské Lázne (Marienbad), accessible from road 230 running between Becov nad Teplou/Karlovy Vary and Planá/Plzen. From town follow signs for Ustovice. Site is signed.
