Alan Rogers Review of Camping Solaire
An attractive, well kept site surrounded by mountains and scenes of pastoral beauty, the owners have developed le Solaire to offer a wide range of facilities including a large jacuzzi heated to 30°C. The swimming pools for adults and youngsters are supervised by a lifeguard, who also gives swimming lessons. The owners are particularly proud of their grasslands and of the 167 large pitches. There are 73 for touring in a separate area, many with good shade and all having 6A electricity with water close by. You can use the site’s website to view and select your pitch. The site is well placed to explore the town of Gap and the surrounding countryside.
Some areas of the site were being refurbished when we visited, particularly the large sanitary block which is being totally rebuilt with modern toilet and shower facilities. A small lake is situated approx 300 m. from the site with facilities for watersports, walking and cycling. The small town of Veynes is within 2 km. and here you will find plenty of restaurants and shops including some larger supermarkets and also a tourist information centre. Weekly markets are held in Veynes on Thursday mornings and also in Gap (24 km) on Wednesdays. During high season there are evening markets with entertainment.

From Grenoble on N75, in town of Aspres-sur-Buëch, take D994a to join D994 travelling northeast towards Veynes. Site is signed on right 1 km. before village.
