Alan Rogers Review of Camping Slunce Žandov
Away from larger towns, near the border with former East Germany, this is pleasant countryside with a wealth of Gothic and Renaissance castles. Žandov has nothing of particular interest but Camping Slunce is a popular campsite with local Czech people.
There is room for about 50 touring units with 35 electrical connections (12A) on the level, circular camping area which has a hard road running round. Outside this circle are wooden bungalows and tall trees. The general building at the entrance houses all the facilities including reception. This is a fairly basic site but is good value for money.
Facilities at Camping Slunce Žandov
The modern toilet block is good by Czech standards. Kitchen with electric rings, full gas cooker and fridges. Restaurant (all year) but under separate management has live music during high season. Kiosk for basics (May-Sept). Tennis. Swimming pool. Mountain bike hire. Playground. Large club room for games and TV. Barbecues are not permitted. Dogs are not accepted.
