Peacefully located beside a gently flowing river, ideal for swimming and with good shade from mature trees, Camping Schwaan is a large site for those who want to relax in a natural setting. There is ample space for children to play, and being close to the Baltic coast and many interesting towns, it makes a quiet base from which to tour the area. There are 150 touring pitches, eight fully serviced and almost all with 10/16A electricity. They are level, grassy and open, so you can spread yourself out under the tall trees. For those using the Rostock ferry service it is also a useful overnight stop.

The part of the site bordering the river has ample areas for sunbathing, and the site is popular with canoeists and cyclists. Although a railway passes close to the rear of the site, it is hardly noticeable on the riverside pitches. During our early summer stay, at 7.30 am, a man was already swimming in the river and children were paddling; all that was noticeable was birdsong and the scent of the pine trees.

Three modern, well maintained sanitary blocks have some individual cabins, controllable showers (payment card), baby bath and accessible facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Small kitchen. Fresh bread to order. Part of river partitioned off as children’s swimming area. Minigolf. Play areas. WiFi over part of site (charged).

Directions to Camping Schwaan

Site is 1 km. south of Schwaan. From Autobahn 20 take exit 13 and travel south 14 km. to Schwaan then towards Kassow. Site is 1 km. beyond Schwaan on the right.
