Camping San Cristoforo

This part of Italy is becoming better known by those wishing to spend time by a lake in the splendid countryside, but away from the more crowded, better-known resorts. Lake Caldonazzo is one of the smaller Italian lakes but is excellent for watersports. Camping San Cristoforo is a relatively new site on the edge of the small town of the same name and is separated from the lake by a minor road, but with easy access. There are 157 pitches on flat grass with tarmac access roads, separated by shady trees. The pitches are of a good size and all have 6A electricity. The site is owners aim is to build a happy family atmosphere and the manager speaks excellent English.

The lake is very close offering watersports and fishing. There are several grassy garden areas dotted around the lake not far from the campsite. All have enchanting views, seats, play equipment and lifeguard posts manned in high season. Used by a tour operator (25 pitches).

Facilities

The large, modern sanitary block provides some washbasins in cabins and pushbutton showers (with plenty of changing room). Facilities for disabled visitors. Washing machine and dryer. Motorhome services. No shop (but village nearby). Attractive bar/restaurant with takeaway serving reasonably priced food. Swimming pool (20x20 m) with sunbathing area and children’s pool. Play area. Beach volleyball. Bicycle hire. Minigolf. Programme of activities (high season).

Location

Pergine Valsugana is 10 km. east of Trento. Site is just off the SS47 Trento-Bassano-Padova road, 2 km. south of the town, near village of San Cristoforo. Site is signed from main road or via village.
