This riverside site (formerly municipal) benefits from a large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts just outside the entrance. There are 95 pitches of which 75 are for tourers. All are level and have water, drainage and electricity (10A). Most are in the shade of mature trees and are separated by neat hedges, and some have views over the River Lot. The old and pretty village of Espalion is a short walk along the river bank, and has a range of shops and cafés. The site makes a good base for exploring this interesting and beautiful region by car, bike or on foot.

Espalion is on one of the pilgrim paths of Saint Jacques-de-Compostelle and has a pink sandstone bridge which can be traced back to 1060. The area is classed as a natural treasure. The town has two interesting museums, one with an unusual collection of furniture, the other showing the inventions of two local men, including the first modern autonomous diving machine. In memory of the inventors a statue of a diver stands proudly in the River Lot close to the old bridge. For young children the well equipped and very popular municipal play area is close to the site.

Espalion is 20 km. northeast of Rodez. Camping Roc de l’Arche is on the south bank of the River Lot and is clearly signed from the village centre.
