Camping Riu is an established campsite which runs alongside the Fluvia river and is owned by the Senia group. There are 200 pitches, of which 190 are for touring units, all with electricity (5/10A mostly Europlug), on flat ground and shaded by mature trees. The bungalows are in a separate area away from the touring pitches and there are six innovative camping shelters for cyclists and walkers. The pleasant bar/restaurant and terrace overlooks the floodlit pool and children’s area where some entertainment is held in high season. Children’s activities run throughout the season, and the site has an attractive new multisports and play area.

The site has a private jetty where it is possible to launch small boats and kayaks directly into the river to gain access to the Bay of Roses (parents of small children should note that this is not protected). Riu is a short walk across the river bridge to charming Sant Pere Pescador with its street markets and restaurants, and also has easy access to the plethora of cultural and historical areas of interest nearby. The friendly director, Rosa, and her staff speak excellent English and Dutch and are very keen that you enjoy their family campsite, which has an ongoing programme of updating and improvement.

Two toilet blocks are clean and well positioned with good showers. Accessible facilities. Baby rooms. Washing machines. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Small supermarket, restaurant and takeaway (all open in high season). Attractive swimming pool and paddling pool. New playground and multisports area. Bicycle hire. Activities programme including entertainment for children (all season). Kayaking (rental at reception). Tennis. Fishing. Excursions. Torches useful. WiFi over site (charged).

Directions to Camping Riu

Sant Pere Pescador is on the coast between Roses and L’Escala. From AP7/E15 exit 4 take N11 north towards Figueres, then C31 towards Torroella de Fluvia. Take Vilamacolum road east and continue to Sant Pere Pescador. Site is well signed in town.
