Alan Rogers Review of Camping Ramales

Located in a rural setting on the outskirts of the small Spanish town of Ramales de la Victoria, this small site provides an opportunity to sample traditional Spanish life. Access to the town is via an easy 1 km. walk. There are 70 small pitches with 50 for touring, all with 3/6A electricity. Some pitches have shade, whilst others enjoy views of the nearby Sierra del Hornijo mountains. Facilities are minimal but the site is well maintained and you are sure of a comfortable stay. Advance booking in high season is recommended. Be sure to sample the on-site Periguena restaurant which serves a variety of cuisine, popular with the locals.

The fast flowing river Ason runs just below the site and there is good access for fishing. Bicycle hire can be organised on site and there are plenty of opportunities for walking. The surrounding countryside offers some of the most scenic mountain views in the region and information on places to visit are available on site and in the town tourist office.

Facilities at Camping Ramales

One heated toilet block provides WCs, washbasins and shower cubicles. No facilities for visitors with disabilities. Washing machines. Shop. Terrace bar, cafeteria, restaurant (weekends only in low season). Fenced play area. Games room. Bicycle hire. Barbecues are not permitted. WiFi.

Directions to Camping Ramales

From A8 exit 173 take N629 to Ramales de la Victoria. At entry to town, turn right (CA261) signed Arredondo. In 1.6 km. turn left over bridge into Parque Publico. Campsite is on right behind Restaurant Perigena. Sharp incline to site so care is needed with larger units.
