Punta Indiani is on a small peninsula on the northwestern shore of Lake Caldonazzo, one of the smaller and most easterly of the Italian lakes. This simple, family run campsite is split into three camping areas. Two are split by a railway line (the trains only run during the day – great for train spotters). There are 115 pitches here which vary in size, all with 3/4A electricity, some with shade. Many have a superb position being right on the shores of this beautiful lake. There are limited amenities on the site, but a rear gate gives access to the town which has all the usual facilities and these compensate for the site’s simplicity. This site is very popular with windsurfers and offers uncomplicated camping at reasonable prices for all.

Sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing and canoeing are among the activities available on the lake, while an extensive network of cycle tracks can be accessed from the cycle path which passes the site. Walkers are also well served in this area. The more energetic might choose to head for the hills to try mountain biking, hang-gliding or paragliding. There are shops, bars and restaurants in Valcanover Pergine, and in other villages around the lake.

Two modernised toilet blocks with mixed British and squat style toilets and hot water. Accessible facilities, Washing machine and dryer. Freezer. High season family activities including al fresco eating. Simple play area. Beach. Dogs accepted by prior arrangement only.

Location

Valcanover Pergine is 16 km. southeast of Trento. From A22 Verona-Brenner motorway, leave at Trento-Nord, follow signs for SS47 Valsugana and Padova. After Pergine Valsugana, take exit for Lago di Caldonazzo on SP1. Site is signed to left within 1 km. Watch for bridge (3.5 m) and sudden left turn into site road with indistinct sign.
