Beside the lake, Polvese takes its name from the island which can be seen clearly from the site. The 70 touring pitches (6/9A electricity) are in one corner, but the site is primarily for the 250 very permanent pitches rented by Italian and German guests. We see this as a site for short visits rather than extended stays. On flat ground, the pitches are reasonably sized, and some are by the lake. Mature trees provide good shade. There are two pools, one is for children, but it is deep. The restaurant is close to the gate, as is the entertainment area.

The very small bar doubles as a shop selling basics for campers. There is a miniclub in high season plus a little entertainment for adults in the evening, and a slightly tired outdoor cinema. Tours are organised along with tastings of the fare produced in Umbria. Watersports are available and there is a small pier for boats. Basic sports facilities are provided. Wherever campers go on site, there are long walks through rows of permanent pitches, some very tired.

Directions to Camping Polvese

Site is on south side of Lake Trasimeno. From Florence-Rome autostrada take Magione exit and lakeside road south to San Arcangelo. Site is well signed.
