Playa Tropicana is a unique site which will immediately strike visitors as being very different. It has been given a tropical theme with scores of Romanesque white statues around the site, including in the sanitary blocks. The site has 380 marked pitches separated by lines of flowering bushes under mature trees. The pitches vary in size (50-90 sq.m), most are shaded and there are electricity connections throughout (10A, some need long leads). There are 50 pitches with shared water and drainage on their boundaries. The site has a delightful position away from the main hub of tourism, alongside a good sandy beach which shelves gently into the clean waters.

To gain beach access it is necessary to cross a promenade in front of the site, which also has statues. It is in a quiet position and it is a drive rather than a walk to the centre of the village resort. The theme extends into an excellent restaurant where, in high season, you may dine on the upper terrace with uninterrupted sea views. A variety of entertainment is provided and there is also a children’s club and social room with films and soft drinks bar in high season. The site has several large water features by the high-quality restaurant (some are very cheeky!). Aviaries are housed in a corner of the site.

Three sanitary blocks delightfully decorated, fully equipped and of a good standard, include washbasins in private cabins. Baby baths and accessible facilities. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Large supermarket. Superb restaurant and takeaway (Easter-30/9). Swimming pools (with indoor facility) and children’s pool. Playground. Bicycle hire. Kayak hire. Children’s club. Fishing. Torches necessary in some areas. No TVs allowed in July/Aug. Dogs are accepted in one area. WiFi over site (charged).

Location

Alcoceber (or Alcossebre) is between Peñiscola and Oropesa. Turn off N340 at 1018 km. marker towards Alcossebre on CV142. Just before entering town turn right immediately after two sets of traffic lights. Follow road to the coast and site is 2.5 km. Avoid alternative route given by GPS (narrow and uneven in places).
