Alan Rogers Review
Parc des Cygnes is just a few minutes from the N1, the A16 Paris-Calais motorway and the A29/A26 route to Rouen and the south, so it is useful as a stopover, being about 50 km. from the ports. It enjoys a riverside position with good access to Amiens. The 3.2-hectares have been completely levelled and attractively landscaped. Bushes and shrubs divide the site into areas, and trees around the perimeter provide some shade. Of the 145 pitches, 136 are for touring, with nine mobile homes to rent. All pitches are grassed with plenty of space on the tarmac roads in front of them for motorhomes to park in wet conditions. There are 81 pitches with electricity (10A), of which 37 also have water and drainage; further water points can be accessed throughout the rest of the site.
Amiens is an attractive cathedral city where you can eat out on the waterfront of the Venice of the North or take a boat trip around the floating gardens of Les Hortillonnages. Information is available and reduced prices are offered for visits to these historical locations as the site is a Somme Battlefields Partner.
Two toilet blocks (both open when site is busy) with separate toilet facilities but unisex shower and washbasin area. Baby bath. Facilities for disabled visitors. Reception building also has toilets, showers and washbasins (heated when necessary). Laundry facilities. Shop (open on request all season), bar and takeaway (4/5-8/9; weekends only in low season). TV/games room. Bicycle hire. Fishing. WiFi over part of site (charged).
LocationFrom A16, leave at exit 20. Take the Rocade Nord (northern bypass) to exit 40, follow signs for Amiens Longpré. At roundabout take second exit to Parc de Loisirs, then right to site (signs all the way). For sat nav use rue du Grand Marais. Link to campsite location map on google
