Alan Rogers Review of Camping Nuraghe Ruiu
This small, tranquil site is inland, in a cool area of olive groves and the vineyards that produce Vernacchia wines. There are 46 grassy touring pitches here, all fully serviced (16A electricity) with shade from cork trees. On-site amenities include a pleasant swimming pool with lifeguard and, overlooking the pool, a bar/restaurant specialising in local cuisine. Musical entertainment is provided in high season. The site will be pleased to recommend walking and cycling routes in the area and there is a great deal to explore, including numerous ancient archaeological sites. We enjoyed this refreshing experience, which is a complete contrast to the beach areas.
The historic village of Sant’Ignazio alongside the site is tiny, comprising little more than a church in a large square with small cottages on three sides. Amazingly, most of the cottages are only used in the second weekend in September when Sant’Ignatio is celebrated. There are no shops or commercial interests here. Some attractive rare breed cattle are kept nearby.

Very modern, spotless sanitary block with excellent facilities. Motorhome services. Bar, restaurant and shop (all 1/6-30/9). Swimming pool (1/6-30/9). Children’s pool. Play area. Entertainment and activity programme (high season). Mobile homes to rent.
Directions to Camping Nuraghe Ruiu
Site is northeast of Oristano. From there head north on SS131 towards Abbasanta and here follow signs to Norbello and the campsite.
