This peaceful inland site is attractively located on the edge of the village of Sarzedo, some three kilometres from the town of Arganil. It is on a hill among pine trees above the River Alva, where you can paddle, fish or canoe. A spacious and well-planned site, it is of high quality for a municipal, and prices are very reasonable. There are no marked pitches, but young trees define where you can park, and there is space for about 120 units, mainly on a flat, sandy grass terrace. There are 75 electrical connections (5-15A). The site is beautifully clean and neat, and access roads are tarmac.

Below the campsite, with gated access from the site via a steepish path and steps, is a municipal swimming pool, a tennis court and a riverside terrace/beach. From the site, you look across at the hill-top village of Sarzedo with its interesting church, and a ten-minute walk takes you to its highly recommended restaurant and bar. Down the road is the pleasant little town of Arganil, with several shops, bars and restaurants, a bank and a post office.

There are views across the surrounding countryside from all parts of the site and there are many quaint and fascinating villages and interesting sites to be visited.

Facilities at Camping Municipal Arganil

Sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained, with controllable hot showers, washbasins (mainly cold water) in semi-private partitioned cabins and a hairdressing area. Note: the block is on the edge of the top terrace, and access from the lower part is via steps or a brisk walk. Accessible facilities, Shop (July-Sept). Bar. Washing machines. TV and leisure room. WiFi over part of the site (free).

Directions to Camping Municipal Arganil

Sarzedo is 45 km. due east of Coimbra, 55 km. by road. From IC2 north of the town take exit 8 onto IP3 Coimbra-Viseu road. Take exit 13 east onto IC6 (N17) towards Arganil and turn south in 15 km. on N324-4 to Sarzedo. Site signed to left at roundabout on village bypass.
