Situated high in the Sierra Mariola National Park, in a beautiful rural setting but only 12 km. from the old town of Bocairent, this is a real taste of Spain with hilltop views all around. Used mainly by the Spanish, the site is an undiscovered jewel with 170 slightly sloping pitches. These are well spaced and have shade from a mixture of young and mature trees. An orchard area, well away from the main site (with no amenities close by), is used for more casual camping. A traditional, stone built restaurant is slightly elevated with views over the site. Accessed by a few steps, this attractive building is covered in roses.

It offers a traditional Spanish menu and is open seven days a week in high season. The good sized swimming pool and play area are located away from the serviced pitches giving a feeling of spaciousness. Reception provides much information about the area and the owner Juan and his staff are very happy to help in any way. This is a quiet, ‘away from it all’ location, ideal for exploring all that rural Spain has to offer.

Six identical small toilet blocks offer adequate facilities with British style WCs and showers with shared changing area. Open style washbasins. Accessible Single toilet and shower. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Small shop, bar/restaurant (all weekends only in low season). Satellite TV. Outdoor pool with separate paddling pool (July/Aug). Two multisports pitches. Play area. Communal barbecue area. Children’s club and entertainment (Aug. only). WiFi (charged). Torches useful.

Directions to Camping Mariola

From the CV40 exit for Ontinyent and follow the CV81. Pass Bocairent and in 2 km. look for camping sign (at textiles factory). Turn south on VV2031 to Alcoy. Turn right at first roundabout and straight on at next through small industrial estate. Persevere onwards and upwards for 10 km. and site is a turn to left.
