Camping Los Molinos at Bareyo is an ideal site for families who wish to enjoy a tranquil setting with excellent views after or before the trials of a sea crossing, or for touring the local area. There is a large Spanish contingent on site and therefore, although the situation is peaceful, expect the normal Spanish exuberance at weekends and on their special days. The site is divided into two main areas, the lower established area with a large number of permanent units on a gentle slope. The newer, upper areas are terraced and planted with young trees which will eventually offer some shade. There are 500 average sized touring pitches here with some shade, and electricity connections.

The higher the terrace the better the excellent inland views (long electricity leads may be required). The very top level is for tents at present (no electricity) and it offers wonderful views of the mountains inland and the sea to the north. This is a sister site to Los Molinos at Noja (ES89950) and a nice alternative to the fast moving seaside resorts.

Modern sanitary buildings in good condition with British style WCs (no seats) and free showers are central. Cleaning can be variable. Washing machines. Accessible Facilities. Shop (1/6-30/9). Restaurant/bar (1/6-30/9). Swimming pools with lifeguard (25/6-7/9). Play area. Tennis. High season free bus twice daily to the beach and town. Torches are required, especially on the steps between terraces.

Directions to Camping Los Molinos de Cantabria

The site is 34 km. from Santander. Move south on Bilbao road to exit 11 then turn north on N141 via Somo to Bareyo. Look for good signs off to right by large church on hill, signed to Bareyo.
