Alan Rogers Review of Camping l’Ombrage
Camping L'Ombrage is a terraced site in the middle of the natural environment of the Ardèche on a hilly terrain. It is a perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding area. You will be staying here near the town of Ruoms, and from the site, you can see the rock of Sampzon in the distance. The site has 80 pitches of which 31 are for touring units and have a 16/10-amp hook-up point, and there are 32 mobile homes or safari tents available for hire. The pitches are very generous, and the low trees provide sufficient shade and give you a real Provençal holiday feeling. The pitches near the bar are perhaps best avoided as you may have to cope with loud music. The site is geared towards lovers of nature. Therefore, the facilities are not on a large scale and are limited.
There is a bar with a terrace that serves refreshing drinks, ice cream, snacks, and pizza. In the evenings, themed dinners are occasionally arranged, accompanied by live music. There is a small playground for the little ones to enjoy. If you want to cool down on a hot summer's day, the campsite's swimming pool is the perfect option which is located next to the campsite's bar. Around the pool, you will find a small sun bathing area with loungers and umbrellas. During high season various activities are organised for the whole family to enjoy including night swimming, inflatable games, creative crafts and various evening entertainment.
