Camping L’ile Cariot In the southern part of the Vendée, towards the bordering Charente-Maritime region. The site is only five minutes from the centre of Chaillé-les-Marais. The site is like an island in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, the renowned marshland. You can go for endless walks, cycle rides or road trips. This friendly family site has 60 grass pitches of which 37 are for touring units and have a 16-amp hook-up point. These are nice and spacious pitches on which you can easily park your car, caravan or motorhome.

The activities on and around the site are fun for children of all ages. Enjoy fishing in one of the creeks or play a game of boules. In the shop, you can buy lovely regional products; fresh bread must be ordered a day in advance. On Sundays, you can buy grilled chicken for lunch. There is a small, heated swimming pool. In peak season, you can design and make your own jewellery. On Fridays, the whole family can participate in archery lessons. Tennis enthusiasts will be pleased to note that at some 100m from the site, you will find a tennis court which you can freely use. There are also 13 mobile homes, chalets and safari tents available to rent.

Directions to Camping L’ile Cariot

From the A83 at junction 7.1 join the D206. At the island after the toll booths turn left to join the D949 towards Le Langon and Chaillé-les-Marais. In Chaillé-les-Marais at the junction with the D25 turn right and almost immediately left and the site is on this road.
