This is a well maintained, Dutch owned site with its own equestrian centre that will appeal to lovers of the countryside, in an area that is ideal for walking or horse riding, yet is within easy reach of Périgueux and the better known sights of the Dordogne. There are 125 pitches in total, but the site has some chalets, bungalows and mobile homes which leaves around 107 grassy pitches for touring units. These are on several different levels most with good shade from mature trees and all have electricity hook-ups (6A). In low season the site can organise tours to local walnut farms, dairies etc. Rallies are welcome and themed programmes can be arranged.

The adjacent riding stables with 26 horses is run by their daughter Angélique. The horses have been selected to be ideal for the local terrain and to be safe and dependable.

Three good, fully equipped toilet blocks include accessible facilities. Laundry. Bread to order. Bar/restaurant serving good value meals, with takeaway. Freezer pack service. Swimming pool (20x10 m) and paddling pool. Riding. Tennis. Badminton. Children’s club and comprehensive activity and entertainment programme in main season.

Directions to Camping les Tourterelles

Site is 46 km. northeast of Périgueux. From Périgueux, take D5 east to Tourtoirac. Turn north onto D67 on entering village (site signed) and shortly fork left on D73 towards Coulaures; site is on left in 1 km.
