Les Terrasses is a small, friendly site located next to the wine growing area of Saint Chinian in the Hérault hinterland, set back from the busy Mediterranean coastline. There are 50 terraced, grass pitches here, all with 10A electricity and views across the vineyards to the hills of the garrigue. On-site facilities include a good little swimming pool with decking for sunbathing, or for a more rustic setting, the river (800 m) has natural pools for a cooling dip. The site was orignally a municipal, but is now run by the enthusiastic Cathy Dubost, who makes you very welcome and does a great deal for motorhome owners.

Camping les Terrasses is well located for enjoying the Saint Chinian wines, which are produced by a co-operative of 20 of the surrounding village, Saint Chinian itself being the centre. Plans are afoot to arrange some wine tastings. The town has two markets each week and a range of shops and restaurants. The Mediterranean coastline with its fine beaches is some 30 km. away and the site is also well placed for trips to Carcassonne, the famous Canal du Midi, or possibly the historic village of Minerve, officially one of the most beautiful villages in France. Minerve is a labyrinth of narrow alleys, topped by an 11th century church and fascinating museum.

The traditional, fully equipped sanitary block has accessible facilities and baby changing. Washing machine and freezer. Motorhome services. Bar. Fresh bread to order. Swimming pool (May/Sept). Small play area. Tennis. Communal barbecues only. WiFi.

Directions to Camping les Terrasses

From Béziers take D612 towards St Chinian, continue through town following signs for St Pons to pick up municipal camping signs just outside town.
