Les Saules is a quiet campsite in an attractive location in the valley of the river Combade, south east of Limoges. Its focal point is an old farmhouse, surrounded by tall trees, housing a bar and terrace. The site has 36 large, level, grassy pitches for touring units, of which 33 have electrical connections (6A). There are three rental units and three tent-only pitches. Bushes between the pitches provide privacy and to maintain the peaceful environment, cars are not allowed on pitches, except for those intended for and occupied by persons with reduced mobility. A small, unfenced lake with a sandy beach is ideal for swimming.

On this hilly site, there is a wealth of trees, bushes, flowers and plants, and plenty of small wildlife, including kingfishers and emerald lizards. Numerous marked tracks for walkers and cyclists run through the surrounding Limousin countryside, which is dominated by Mont Gargan. The village of Sussac has a grocery that also sells bread, and a post office. Nearby Domps has a bar/restaurant and the closest supermarket and bank are in Châteauneuf-la-Forêt. Limoges, famous for its porcelain, is within easy reach and offers a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Very clean sanitary block includes provision for children, babies and accessible facilities; hot water also to sinks. Washing machine and dryer. Chemical disposal only permitted if biological product used. Bar. Fresh bread daily. Communal meals twice weekly. Organised activities and informal evening entertainment. Swimming in lake, with roped-off shallow section for young children. Playroom and playground with trampoline. Table tennis. Boules, badminton and volleyball. WiFi (charged).

Directions to Camping les Saules

Sussac is 50 km. southeast of Limoges via A20 (l’Occitane) motorway. Leave at exit 39 and head east on D15/D12 to Châteauneuf-la-Forêt. Continue east then south on D39 through Sussac and follow signs to campsite, turning east towards Domps on D30A. then south (sharp right) to les Saules. Follow directions, not sat nav.
