Alan Rogers Review of Camping les Dunes
If you want a site close to a fantastic beach with great surfing, this is the place for you. Camping les Dunes has a fine location, between the fishing port of Saint Gilles- Croix-de-Vie and the larger resort of Les Sables d’Olonne. It enjoys direct access to one of the Vendée’s finest beaches. The site has 53 sandy pitches of around 90 sq.m, all surrounded by one metre high hedges and fully serviced (20A electricity). There are also mobile homes to rent. A water park has two outdoor pools and a heated indoor pool with jacuzzi, lazy river and water slide. Evening entertainment is organised every night except Saturday during high season, including discos, bingo and karaoke, folk dancing and live music. There is a choice of watersports at the Dunes beach opposite.
Bretignolles-sur-Mer has a beach stretching for 13 km. and is well known for its surfing and watersports. There are also many excellent seafood restaurants. A short distance to the south, Les Sables d’Olonne is an important resort with all amenities, and a good zoo.

Five sanitary blocks are clean and adequately equipped with preset showers in cubicles. Accessible facilities. Washing machines and dryer. Well stocked shop (15/4-5/9). Bar. Small restaurant and snack bar/crêperie. Outdoor and indoor swimming pools with paddling pool and jacuzzi. Play area. Library. Minigolf. Tennis. TV room. Children’s club. Evening entertainment. Beach volleyball. Multisports pitch. Boules. Bicycle hire. WiFi throughout (charged).
Directions to Camping les Dunes
Take A83 south from Nantes and exit 4 towards La Roche-sur-Yon. Take D763 continuing along D937 and then along D160 towards Les Sables d’Olonne. Continue on D38 north through Ile d’Olonne and Brem-sur-Mer. At end of village, follow signs to site.
