Centrally located in the department of the Drôme, this is a useful base for touring the beautiful region. To the south are fields of lavender, vineyards offering quality wines and Nyons, renowned for olive oil. To the northeast lie the Vercors mountains. Within easy walking distance of the town, les Clorinthes is a comfortable site with 180 level grass pitches, 164 are for touring and all have 6A electricity. The pitches are in rows, each row is separated by a hedge and there is ample shade. Crest, overlooked by France’s highest castle keep, dates from medieval times and borders the River Drôme.

For the sweet toothed the chocolate factory at Tain l´Hermitage and a visit to Montélimar famous for its nougat will prove rewarding. There are good restaurants serving a large selection of local agricultural products.

Two colourful and well maintained sanitary blocks with accessible facilities. Washing machine. Bar serving snacks and takeaway (15/6-31/8). Bread to order (all season). Swimming and paddling pools (15/5-5/9). Playground. Organised activities (July/Aug).

Directions to Camping les Clorinthes

Crest is 24 km. southwest of Valence. From A7/E15, exit 15, Valence Sud. Take D111 southeast. At roundabout on outskirts of Crest site is signed. Continue straight ahead on main road which descends into town. At traffic lights turn right across river bridge. Shortly at small roundabout make 360 degree turn and, before re-crossing bridge, turn right to site 400 m.
