Le Soleil d’Or is a medium-sized site located in the busy resort town of Montalivet-les-Bains. This is a good base for walkers and cyclists with over 100 km. of first rate cycle tracks to explore, with direct access from the site. There are 89 pitches here, of which 44 are reserved for tourers (with 10A electricity). Other pitches are occupied by mobile homes available to rent. There is a snack bar with a takeaway food service, a bar/restaurant and fresh bread available during the high season. The site is just 200 m. from the beach, one of the northernmost surfing sections of the 200 km. stretch of sandy beaches.

Montalivet has a daily open-air market during the summer months. This is a good market with over 200 stalls. There are also many shops, restaurants and cafés in the town. A little further afield, the Medoc vineyards merit exploration, with some of the greatest wine producers in the world close at hand. Alternatively, the great city of Bordeaux can easily be reached and has a great deal of interest.

Directions to Camping le Soleil d’Or

From Bordeaux ring road exit 8 take D1215 then D102 to Montalivet-les-Bains. After traffic lights in town, turn right at roundabout onto l’Espérence boulevard Foch, then left onto boulevard G. Leclerc. Continue to end of road, site is on right in 400 m.
