Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Repaire
Set in quiet countryside in the heart of the Périgord Vert, next to a small fishing lake, le Repaire is a beautiful, spacious and peaceful municipal site, well situated for visiting towns such as Périgueux and Brantôme. There are 110 good sized, slightly sloping, grassy pitches (90 for touring), all with electricity (6A). They are in small groups, separated by shrubs and a variety of trees providing shade to some pitches. A few shadier pitches are available at the edge of the adjoining woodland. The interesting town of Thiviers can be reached in 20 minutes along a footpath and is just 2 km. by road.
On-site facilities include a small fishing lake near the entrance (no swimming) and small swimming and paddling pools open mid-June to mid-September. It also has a new bar and restaurant (July/August). This spacious site has large areas under the trees for families to unwind. For the more energetic there are many walking and cycle routes in the surrounding area. Bungalows are available to rent.
Facilities at Camping le Repaire
Two clean and functional toilet blocks provide washbasins in cabins, accessible cubicles, washing machines and drying facilities. One unit is shut in low season. No chemical disposal point. Reception area (no shop but bread to order). Terrace bar and snack/takeaway service (July/Aug). Swimming pool (heated) and paddling pool (15/6-15/9). Small fishing lake. Play area. Tennis. Boules. Pétanque. Exercise track. Barbecue area. Free WiFi in reception area.
Directions to Camping le Repaire
Leave N21 at Thiviers, about 60 km. southwest of Limoges. At roundabout turn east, D707, signed Lanouaille. Site is on right in 2 km.
